Geometry workshop

This module helps defining the geometry and the volume of the sails by modeling the boat.

Add the boat's various characteristic elements :

-
Hulls
- Masts
- Spreaders
- Anchor points
- Stays

Define the sail plan for the boat. Choose at anytime, different sail plan configurations
(ie upwind or downwind sail plans). With high accuracy, obtain any possible interaction between sails, the boat, and rigging, while in sailing conditions.

 

Aerodynamic workshop

This powerful mathematics tool provides a first view in comparing two sail configurations for the same boat or two
sails having the same triangulation but the volume distributed differently.

One can :

- Quantify the aerodynamic loads on a sail configuration
- Compare two sail configurations
Obtain the aerodynamic force components (loads and moments), the pressure distribution  for each sail, and the local
ideal attack angles for different heights.
See your results in 3D views.

 

Save time in sail design

The Boat module represents substantial help for you in several ways :
 

- Collaborate with all participants during the sail plan definition.

Using IGS or DXF interface, you can work
in close collaboration with architects, rig designers and the skipper to obtain a greater coherence between the requirements of each party.


- Control the effect of your work during sail design.

Of course, it is possible to not only define the triangulation of your sails but also several volume characteristics. This interference option will inform you of any obstacles present such as spreaders or rigging.
You can also control the aerodynamic sail performance.


- Visualize the final results.

After having defined shapes and seam layouts, it is possible to visualize the sails with the boat under way from any point of view.
